Civil War Nursing Fund

As part of its events to observe the 150th anniversary of the Civil War and four brave women from Tompkins County who served as nurses, the Tompkins County Civil War Commemoration Commission is joining with the Tompkins Cortland Community College Foundation to establish a fund in their honor.

Help support three permanent scholarships and an annual nursing faculty professional development award.

One of the TC3 Foundation’s most vital activities is the stewardship of a scholarship program for students. Community college students face many financial obstacles, and often, traditional forms of aid offered through the office of financial aid are not adequate to meet students’ need. TC3 Pathways Scholarship for Adult Learners
The TC3 Pathways scholarship is designed with the specific needs of adult student in mind. This scholarship can essentially fund a student’s education at TC3, with a maximum award of $5,000 – and the scholarship is available to part-time students as well.

The TC3 Foundation Annual Campaign directly supports our student and their financial education needs. We distributed over $125,000 directly to our students through scholarships, grants in aid and graduation awards. Our goal for the 2010-2011 Annual Campaign is $190,000. We are grateful for all the support we have received from our donors.
