![]() Think of the Possibilities...The Campaign for TC3![]()
How much should I give?Your gift should reflect your and your families’ philanthropic priorities. As this is a five-year campaign, a multi-year pledge can help achieve your goals as a donor. Some donors find that they can more easily achieve their goals by taking advantage of such as gifts of stock. The TC3 Foundation is happy to work with you to craft various payment options that best suit your needs. Why should I give to a state-assisted institution like TC3?Like most other "state institutions" today, Tompkins Cortland Community College receives only a portion — currently about 25 percent — of its total budget directly from the state. It must find the rest of its operating revenues from its county sponsors (Tompkins and Cortland) and student tuition. It is through the generosity of private donors that allows TC3 to remain one of the best community colleges in the state. Private philanthropy is of growing significance to the College and often provides funds for academic initiatives for which there are no other ready sources of support. Our donors are significant partners in advancing new academic programs, supporting students through scholarships and grants, and helping ensure that our facilities are state-of-the art. Strong private giving makes Tompkins Cortland Community College truly exceptional. Can I make a pledge?Yes, pledges to the campaign are usually made over a three to five-year payout period. They can be paid monthly, quarterly, biannually or annually and typically involve an initial payment. You may pledge online or contact the Alumni & Development Office to set up your pledge. I do not have a lot of money---what difference will my pledge/gift make? All gifts to the campaign do make a difference! In fact, the vast majority of TC3’s donors make “small” gifts. Last year, almost 600 donors raised $189,000 for the annual campaign. Your gift and your support matter and it takes many to make a campaign successful. I give to the annual campaign already; why are you asking me again? Each year many individuals, including current TC3 faculty and staff, alumni, businesses, corporations, and foundations, as well as many community residents make gifts to TC3’s Annual Campaign. The annual campaign is different from our first-ever capital campaign and supports such things as student scholarships, equipment purchases, and other high-priority campus needs. The capital campaign is helping to support the implementation of the College’s Campus Master Plan. | ||
